About Us

The River Inn Bar, nestled three and a half miles west of Chippewa Falls on County Highway X, has been a beloved establishment since the early 1940s. While the original bar is a memory of the past, the current building, erected in 1968, holds onto the rich history and nostalgia of its predecessor, fondly known as Sams place. The tales of bygone days and the lively happenings that transpired within its walls are cherished by many in the community.

The bar was under the ownership of Sam and Ester Rineck for a significant period, preserving its charm and character. Over the years, various individuals with deep ties to the local area have taken the reins, infusing their own personalities into the space. In 2005, Art and Sue Schroeder, also locals, embraced the opportunity to continue the legacy of the River Inn Bar. Art's work with a national construction company pairs well with Sue's adept management skills in overseeing the bar's day-to-day operations.

Stepping inside the River Inn Bar, guests are greeted by the friendly mascot - a five-foot cast iron rooster symbolizing the bar's famous chicken wings, a signature dish served throughout the week. The atmosphere resonates with warmth and familiarity, where family, friends, and dedicated employees collaborate to ensure seamless operations. The bar stands as a cornerstone of the community's history, a gathering place where people come together to celebrate life's highs and support each other through its lows.

Coldest beer around and the very best wings ever made. My wife and I stopped for a beer and some food today. Cold brew, but the food was the highlight today Mushroom and Swiss for me and Chicken garlic and herb for my Mrs. Both sandwiches were damn delicious with great prices. The bartender/server was excellent. Hard worker, naturally friendly, good communicator and fast. Don't recall her name, but an asset to the business. Best keep her. We will definitely be back more often. AAA+++
